Did you know your employer might double or even triple your donations to Humane World for Animals (formerly Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International)? Many companies will also match donations made from spouses and retirees or make a matching gift for the hours you volunteer.

We’re working to increase equity in access to care through policy making, training for veterinary and animal welfare professionals, and direct care programs that provide veterinary care, pet supplies, other animal care services and information at no cost to pet owners.

Breed-based policies are based on myths and misinformation, rather than science or credible data. However, their impact on dogs, families and animal shelters is heartbreakingly real.

Public records show that hundreds of weeks-old puppies are trucked to New Jersey pet stores from massive Midwest puppy mills each year. These puppy mills keep dogs in conditions that any New Jerseyan would be horrified by: some have been cited for emaciated dogs, dead puppies and dogs with open wounds, fleas and lice, injuries and signs of heat distress.

Stopping the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in pet shops will also shield consumers from misleading sales tactics, sick and genetically disordered puppy sales, disease outbreaks and predatory puppy loans.

Pets for Life is transforming the lives of dogs and cats by closing the service gap that exists for people and pets in underserved areas and bringing awareness in a new way to larger systemic inequities and injustices.
