We’re helping animals in Africa, with a special focus on ending the illegal wildlife trade, promoting non-lethal solutions to human-wildlife conflict and more. Our sanctuary in Liberia cares for more than 60 former research chimpanzees.

We are a leading force for animal protection across the continent. In South Africa, we have active campaigns to improve conditions for farmed animals, protect wildlife, reduce the use of animals in testing and better protect companion animals. In Liberia, our Second Chance Chimpanzee Refuge provides lifetime care to more than 60 chimpanzees who were used in invasive research for decades.

More about our work in Africa

Across Asia, we’re improving the lives of street dogs, protecting wild animals from poaching, ending the intensive confinement of pregnant sows and egg-laying hens, shutting down the dog and cat meat trade, promoting humane solutions to wildlife conflicts, ending the use of animals in research and more.

Our work in Asia

We're driving lasting change for animals through bold advocacy, strategic campaigns and hands-on efforts. From ending inhumane factory farming practices to protecting wildlife and vital habitats, we champion innovative solutions that create a more humane world.

We are one of the largest and most effective international charities working for a more humane and sustainable world for animals. We are leaders in saving endangered species and their habitats and reducing cruelty in farming, trade and other industries.

Our work in Australia

We are creating that world through engagement with the European Commission, the European Parliament and the 27 EU member states. We also collaborate with many non-governmental organizations, corporations, animal advocates and more.

Ending the fur trade, the cage confinement of farmed animals and the import of hunting trophies are just a few of our goals across Europe.

We’re addressing some of the biggest threats to animals: intensive confinement on farms, puppy mills, trophy hunting, seal slaughter and so much more. Our sanctuaries care for hundreds of animals now safe from the exotic pet trade, roadside zoos and animal testing facilities.

In the UK, we're creating a more humane world through strategic advocacy, policy change and relentless work to end cruel industries and protect animals. Across the UK, we collaborate with like-minded advocates to push for a better world. It’s something Brits want, with 71% of the British public surveyed agreeing that policies that improve animal welfare reflect their own values.

We’re focused on a few key areas, including eliminating the worst abuses of farmed animals. Less than 20% of Brits support caging pigs, and we’re working to end that cruelty.
