How to leave a gift
To leave a gift to Humane World UK, all you need is our official name, address and charity number to give to your solicitor or will-maker:
-
Name: Humane World for Animals UK
-
Address: 5 Underwood Street, London, N1 7LY
-
Charity Number: 1098925
Before visiting your solicitor or will-maker, it is worth considering the type of gift you would like to make.
Residuary gift
This is a gift of a set percentage of your estate after all other gifts have been made and debts cleared. Leaving a percentage of your estate means you’re less likely to need to update your will in the future. The percentage remains unchanged if the value of your estate rises or falls over time. In this case, please ask your solicitor or will-maker to use the following wording: “I leave x% to Humane World for Animals UK, 5 Underwood Street, London, N1 7LY, registered charity number 1098925.”
Cash gift
This is also known as a pecuniary gift and is a fixed sum of money. In this case, please ask your solicitor or will-maker to use the following wording: “I leave the sum of £x to Humane World for Animals UK, 5 Underwood Street, London, N1 7LY, registered charity number 1098925.”
Gift restrictions
It is possible to specify that you would like your gift to only be used on an area of our work you are particularly passionate about; however, it is important to talk to us about this beforehand, so that we are able to advise you and ensure that your intentions for protecting animals are correctly expressed. From all of us, deep and sincere thanks for your generosity and compassion.

I have already included a legacy gift to your former charity name (Humane Society International) in my will. Do I need to change this?

If you have already included a gift in your will referencing our previous name, please know that you do not have to update your will to change this. Please be assured that Humane World for Animals UK will safely receive all legacy gifts and bequests made to our previous charity name.
