Black Beauty Ranch was founded in 1979 by author and animal advocate Cleveland Amory and is now one of America's largest and most diverse animal sanctuaries. With over 1,400 acres, Black Beauty Ranch is home to nearly 650 domestic and exotic animals, many of whom have been rescued from near-death situations.

Black Beauty Ranch, part of Humane World for Animals, is home to tigers, bears, kangaroos, bison, apes, reptiles, antelopes, horses, burros, farm animals and more—animals saved from research laboratories, roadside zoos, public lands under threat, cruelty cases and others found their refuge at Black Beauty Ranch after law enforcement seizures or were former victims of the exotic pet trade.
