Form 990: Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax
Each year, we file Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service to provide information to the public on finances and activities. As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we make available our U.S. entities’ three most recent IRS Form 990 filings. These documents are available for download below in PDF format.
The form includes required financial information, descriptions of our programs and areas that received major financial support and a brief account of our accomplishments during the year. Due to space limitations, the information provided is not inclusive of all our programs. Our publications, blogs, websites and other platforms also report on our activities and provide an accounting of the activities and achievements made possible by the generous support of our members and contributors.
The IRS requires disclosure of grants above $5,000. In addition to its grant-making, we help other organizations through a variety of programs and services.

Charity ratings
Humane World for Animals earns a top four-star rating from Charity Navigator, which reports that “you can give with confidence,” and is approved by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance for all 20 of its standards for charity accountability, which address charity governance, finances, effectiveness reporting, appeal accuracy, website disclosures and donor privacy. We have Guidestar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency for providing donors with information on our strategic plan, impact, leadership demographics and other metrics.
